Homestead Help You Should Know

How To File Your Texas Residential Homestead Exemption Application

Filing your Texas residential homestead exemption is a great way for you to fight rising property taxes. To be eligible for the homeowner's exemption, the home must be for an individual, not a corporation, and you must own and live on the property as of January 1st.

Filing this exemption is free and it's easy for you to do on your own. Plus, it can save you $230-250 on taxes and keep your assessed value from increasing more than 10%!

Exemptions must be filed between January 1st and April 30th. Below are step-by-step directions on filing your residential homestead exemption. If you have any questions, we are here to help!
